    the stranger replied, "When you get to the lake you will see." Setting out they arrived at the lake in less than ten minutes where to his great astonishment he say a great road descending into the middle of the lake while it appeared to him that the waters were piled on each side.
    Following this road they came to a beautiful palace lighted with various colours. As soon as they entered the hall a great door closed behind them, and they lost all sight of the lake, an attendant led the way into an inner chamber or room, where on a couch lay a beautiful princess, still having the prongs of the fork in her side. She was sourrounded by a number of gentlemen who appeared to be doctors. One of these signed to Mr. Brady to with-draw the fork. He did so as gently as he could, he was surprised that no blood issued from the wounds.
