The smiths shoe asses and horses. I have never heard of cattle being shod. In some countries (and they) tin shoes are put on bullocks and they are made plough. - There are three forges in the parish of Killinkere. The smiths are Sam Mac Illwane, James Caffrey, and Pat Clarke. This been a tradition in their families.
The bellows is a large three cornered article with a pipe or tube sticking underneath the fire hearth. There is a long chain attached on to the bellows and when it is pulled the wind leaves(continues on next page)- Collector
