He got a bit of iron and put it in the fire and reddened it and hammered it out and gave it to her and she gave him her blessing.
- The water the blacksmiths cool the red irons in, it is an old saying that there is a cure of chilblains in it. If you would wash your feet in it it would make your feet as hard as iron.
