Long ago cloth used to be spun in this district but it is never spun now except in the south of Ireland.
There used to live an old man known as the "spinner" in Cloughergoole, and he used to spin cloth.
Shirts are made in some homes and socks and stockings are also knitted.
A lame person is always a tailor or a shoemaker.
On Saint Patrick's day some people wear green dresses. At death black clothes are usually worn as a symbol of mourning. At a wedding blue and white are worn as(continues on next page)- Collector
