- It is probable that every little village in Ireland has its own local ghosts or banshees and the children grow up with these stories and they become inseparable from the village and are believed in a vague kind of way,
Since I was old enough to understand anything, I have realised that a little ghostly woman goes up and down Mullagh from about eleven at night till the early hours of the morning. She is said to be small, dressed in black, walks quickly, turns in to gateways and emerges again and never seems to interfere with anyone, nor does her appearance predict anything - either painful or pleasant. She just wanders around and should one meet her, she is recognised as the "mystery-(continues on next page)- Collector
