  1. I
Sure God has been kind - He allowed me to find
My way all through Erin's green isle:
From Donegal to the Mall, through Mayo and all [?]
Sure I saw all the places worth while.
Sure Kerry and Cork are the angel's own work,
And the world has few spots can comapre
With Avoca and Down and the "tribemen's own town
Or the green coated mountains of Clare,
But though far o'er the sea, my body may be,
My heart is in Breffni still,
For always it thrills for the valleys and rills
That cluster round sweet Mullagh Hill.
    II.
Although I may not see that dear little spot
With these mortal eyes once again,
In Heaven above, sure I always will love
Every plant on that hillside and plain,
And where would you find a people so kind
As those who abide in that place?
Sure kindness and love by the Maker above
    Are imprinted on every face.
And my heart thumps my side as it fills up with pride [?]
And I hope [?] that it always will,
