    The hill was afterwards known as "Crockin Crawie" which means the hill of the battle.
    It is also said than an underground passage led from the Castle to the valley as a means of exit, if an invasion should occur. Older people who are long since dead claimed that they saw part of the passage and were at the digging out of it.
