- There is a stone in Moybologue graveyard where St. Patrick shot the woman named Gargan. He shot her with a sixpence. She was eating all the people. He buried her in a drain and if many Gargans cross the drain the one day she will rise again and eat the whole world. There are ten forts in this district, one in Copponagh, another in Drumbar and another in Clonturkin, three in Balloughly, two in Berragh, Kingscourt, two in Mullinacross. No matter which of these forts you stand on you can see seven others.
There is a cairn on the Loughinlea Mt. where some chieftain was buried in a stone grave.- Collector
