    white thorn hedge they make their nests of moss hair and feathers they lay five blue eggs it takes the young about eighteen weeks to come out.
    The swan-: The swan is a lovely white bird with yellow feet. It is said that the swan would die with pride only for her yellow feet. She makes a nest of weeds lined with her own feathers in a hollow beside a lake and one or two white eggs. When the swan comes to every lake somebody always dies in the townland.
    The Felt-: The felt makes its nest in a Hawthorn bush with mud, moss and her own feathers, lays five white eggs with brown spots in them. It takes the young birds three weeks to hatch out. When the young come out they are called scawldies.
    The Cuckoo-: lays its eggs in another birds nest. It lays two eggs. The cuckoo is grey in colour. It takes three weeks for the scaldies to come out of the eggs. The eggs are blue in colour.
    The Thrush-: lays five eggs they are blue and black spots through them. it builds its nest in a white thorn bush the nest is made of moss hay and muck. It takes
