    My Native Parish Killann
'Tarry awhile midst its braes and its lowers
Rest near by its ruined shrine, there may you scan
Its graveyard so holy, its castle sites so gorry
Ah! come here and rest by lovely Killann'
Killann is in the barony of Clonkee near the borders of Meath and Monaghan. In bygone days this parish was owned by the O'Reillys, ancestors of the Clan who later changed their surname to McKee or MacKay locally known as the Blind O'Reilly and from whom the Barony of Clonkee derived its name.
In their day of splendour the O'Reillys of Killann owned vaulted castles in the present townland of Lisgar and Muff.
The old parish chapel of Killann, now in ruins was endowed by them.
