    Superstitions
    1/ If the cock crows on the doors step it is a sign of hasty news.
    2/ If the magpies chatter near the house early in the morning it is a sign of sickness.
    3/ If you see the new moon through glass it is for ill luck.
    4/ If you are stopped to the ground when you hear the cuckoo first you will be buried before she shouts again next year.
    5/ If you meet a woman with red hair when you are going to the fair you will have bad lick if she does not come back with you three steps and say "Good luck"
    6/ If you let a knife or a fork fall you will have a sharp visitor and if you let a spoon fall you will have an old woman.
    7/ If you clip your nails on Sunday, you will have bad luck all through the week.
    8./ It is most unlucky for the shoemaker to bleed
