  1. Local Song (ar lean)

As I strolled out the other night I met a jolly gang

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
They swear they'll never look for law
    About the "Ring" again.
    Chorus.
This song was made about nine or ten years ago by Mr. John Smith from the "Ring". One night some crowd went to Mrs Mary Geraghty's house where they did not conduct themselves properly. There was law about it and they got free.
The "Ring" is a place near Drumnatrade. It got its name from a ring which was made by Squire Moore, on which he used to turn his horses when he visited that country for rent.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
