  1. In Eires green Isle far over the ocean,
    In the county of Cavan near peaceful Stradone,
    I was born and reared there with care and devotion
    In a neat little cabin in a loved cottage home.
    II
    That dear loving spot I shall ever remember
    And cherish and foster within my heart's core
    For there childhood days I spent happily and tender
    I fear I am exiled to see it no more
    III
    The cruel cursed mandate of dark foul oppresion,
    Compelled me to cross over the ocean's afar,
    To this mighty nation of civiliztion
    To spend my last days neath the stripes and the stars
