  1. The local fairs are generally held in the towns, and an annual fair is held in the village of Tullyvin. The chief fairs of the year are the May and November fairs. Sometimes before the May fairs buyers go through the country buying cattle.
Formerly a fair was held in the village of Stradone, but this fair has now been discontinued. This fair was held on the 24th of June, and was called the mid-summer fair. The fairs of Stradone were not good, few buyers came to it, and therefore the people did not bring their cattle to it. This is the reason why the fair of Stradone was discontinued.
The old annual fairs of the year are held in Cavan town on the 14th of May and on the 12th of November.
The place where the fair is held is called the fair green.
