  1. There was a man who dreamt three times of a crock of gold in his fort and one morning he got up very early and he and another man went out and began to dig. Before very long he heard a call and they thought they were called to their break-fast so they went down to the house and the breakfast was not ready. They waited until it was ready and when they went back all the clay that they had dug was back in the hole. They dug it out again and they were called again and every time they dug our the clay they were called and when they came back the clay was in the hole again.
They formed an opinion that it was the fairies and they got afraid to interfere with the fort any more.
