    So he set out to find King O'Neill and he found him. He lived in a small house in the west of Clare, and King O'Neill was only a nickname for him. The house that he lived in was a very dilapidated one, and the first thing the steward saw at the door was two goats.
    Then he went into the house and he saw King O'Neill and his wife sitting near the fire and a scuttle of potatoes left on a sop and they eating them. When O'Neill had finished he wiped his hands with a sop of hay, and then burned it. He threw the scuttle that the potatoes
