    There were masters named Mr. O'Higgins, and Mr. Garvey, who used to teach Irish in a shed in Rathmore.
    They used to lodge in the house. They would be paid according to there number of pupils present There were alot of Subjects taught in the hedge schools, such as English, writing, Arithmetic geography;
    Irish was not used until the year 1902, it was taught in Rathmore.
    There were different books for each class.
    They read A. B. C. books for first class.
    Writing was done by pen and ink and by slate.
    There were six classes in each school from first class to sixt class.
    They remained until they were pensioned off or sacked.
