    V Cure for sty
If a person has a sty on his eye he gets a goose-berry branch having ten thorns on it. Each morning he blesses himself with the thorns and throws away the last one. According as the thorns are wasted the sty is dying away.
    VI Cure for thorn
If a thorn goes in far in ones flesh so that it is impossible to take it out "Blessed Butter" is applied. Mrs. Nash, Drumcree Collinstown, Co. Westmeath has this cure. She prays over unsalted butter and this is applied to the thorn.
