    The cure for sore throat
    Rub "Seven years bacon" to it. This is bacon which is put in the chimney for seven years. A swede turnip is also a cure for sore throats.
    A cure for an inward pain:
    To boil soot in New Milk, and not to let the person know what he is drinking.
    A cure for coughs and colds:
    To boil dandelion with sugar candy.
    People long ago used roasted salt for a sore throat.
    For warts they used the juice of dandelion flowers.
    For a sore ear they used a red onion soaked in Olive Oil.
    For a pain in the side they used a poultice of bread and water or linseed meal.
