    For a pain in the head they used to bathe their heads with cold water.
    When the people's noses would bleed they used to tie woolen threads around their thumbs.
    Some years ago the people used to say that if you met a man with a grey horse accidentally at a crossroads and if you asked him for a cure for the whooping cough whatever he would tell you to do would cure the person.
    A cure for warts.
    To cure warts you steal a piece of bacon rub it into the warts then bury it and when it rots the warts should be gone.
    Another cure for warts is to put a stone for every wart in a bag, leave the bag on the road and the person who picks up the bag gets the warts and the person who filled the bag loses them.
