  1. Skinny Hill.
Near Ballyboy is a sand pit, locally known as 'Skinny Hill'. Tradition says that there was an inn for travellers here in the very remote past, and a road known as "Botar Fada" - connecting it with Co. Waterford via the Knockmealdown Mountains on the one side and on the other side Co. Limerick via the Galtie Mountans ran be the side of this sand pit.
About thirty years ago when sans was being raised in this pit, a workman unearthed three fine specimens of Urns which contained the remains of some early settlers, probably Phoenicians as they were engaged in these early periods in trading on tin in this country.
