    put a cross in the loaf so as the crust would not fall off and so it would bake evenly .When they put down a loaf they heat the oven at first and then they shake flour in it so as it would not stick to the oven.They make special bread for certain occasions .They make pan cakes "shrove Tuesday"and they call it pancake Tuesday .They make a cake for "November's Night"and they put a ring in it and who ever will get the ring at first they will get married the first.They used to make stampy when the digging of the potatoes would be finished .They used to make potatoe cakes for people when ricking the hay and digging the potatoes .
