the stalks are above the ground they are softened. Then they are landed. Then the farmer sprays the stalks to keep the blight off them. With disolved blu-stone they spray them. Then the farmer digs them out and someone else picks them and puts them into a pit. The pit is about two feet deep and is covered and the potatoes are left there for the years. Long ago the people used to make bread out of potatoes called and the water they used to take out of the potatoes was used to make starch.

There is a supernatural creature up the Finucanes near a place called Cullinans High Wood. He is called a Tollhaire. He has a shape like a dog and he is coloured black. He is seldom seen but when he is seen it is always at nightime. He would run across the road in front of you and when you would have passed he would follow you the whole road.
If you hit him with a stone or anything even though you would think that you had
