- More people get married during Shrove than any other time of the year. People don't do any work the day they get married. Some people don't get married on Monday or Friday. Long ago people used wear long clothes when they used be getting married. Boys and girls go out in the Bacachs the night of the wedding. They don't go for any races coming home.
