    The next was Whelan down from Glen
    The seed and breed of plucky men
    While J. Thompson too was seen again
    Where e'er the ball did roll
    Thomas Power that favourite of mine
    And the redoubtable Jim O'Brien
    Whilst McGrath and Nugent were just in time
    And Brown upon the goal

    Now I think I have named them all
    And when again the rolls I'll call
    I hope to find them at the ball
    In answer to my rhyme.
    And from that day may they long reign
    For to uphold their country's fame
