    None could him persuade
    Nor his courage impede
    He was bound for a sail on Loughooney
    So forth to the harbour
    These heroes they went
    They manfully ploughed the proud billow
    But little they knew
    That their moments were few
    That the cold sand would soon be their pillow:
    A storm then come on
    And the breakers did foam
    And the wild waves they rushed in full fury.
    Their boat was upset
    they were washed overdeck
    For to drink in the waves of Loughhooney
    Brave Murray swam on
    Till he came near the land
    With implacalbe wave hurling over
    He turned on his back
