- Collected from my father, Peter Rudden. Age 60. Farmer.
When people had a cold they warmed some buttermilk and put sugar on it, and took it going to bed. They took that every night till the cold was gone.
Others put the white of an egg in warmed sweet milked, and mixed it through the milk, this would be given and any time during the day.
For to clear the blood dandelion would be drawn for two or three hours. Some sugar would be put on it sweeten it. The fine green tops of broom were made into tea and drawn for an hour. This was used to bathe and absess and bring it to a top. This would be sapped on it.
