The Road leading from Corglass cross to Kilcross lane at the junction of townlands Beglieve, Dunenna and Kilcross in the parish of Knockbride, Barony of Clankee was built as relief work in the famine time. There was no road or lane there previous to that time. The tenants adjoining were allowed to cart away the soil dug out, and spread it over their farms.
    Informant, Frank McIntyre often heard his father and others say that more men died from the cold in the making of it than there did from hunger.
