  1. Long ago weddings were very different to what they are nowadays. The sued to go on side-cars. The brides and groom's (a) was first going to the chapel the groom and the Bride's-maid sat on one side of the car and the Bride and groom's-man sat on the other side and comming home the bride and groom sat together. When they came out of the chapel the people threw rice on them. Another custom was to tie an old boot to the car and another was to meet the bride with a coal in the tongs in the door of her future home.
