  1. St. Patrick converted the Irish to christianity. St. Patrick was born in France. He came to Ireland in the year four hundred and thirty two. He was sold as a slave to a man named Uilhu. He was herding swine on the hill of Slemish and he would pray about a hundred times in the night. St. Patrick dreamed one night that there was a ship waiting for him and he got up out of bed and went out and there was a ship waiting for for him and he went (out) on the ship and the people asked him had he any money and he said no but he said he would work on the ship. He died on the 17th of March and he was buried in Downpatrick. In Ireland the people the 17th of March a holiday in honour of him.
