- I heard my uncle talking about old carts and old ways of working. There were no carts then with wheels like now. The farmer got some large blocks of wood. They were split down the middle and tied together with salley rods. These were called brailer's. Sometimes this was tied to the horse's tail but mostly bulls pulled this One horse was among four or five men and the brailer.
