The snow melted and the rain poured, and soon great floods arose.
A valuable horse belonging to Patrick Brady, Tunnyinn, Cootehill, Co. Cavan was drowned in the flood. Peter Malone, Corfad, Cootehill, Co. Cavan was missing during the storm and when the floods disappeared his body was found on the bank of a stream near his own house.
