    house. Sometimes a glass would be broken purposely for to start a row. It is unlucky for a wedding party to meet a funeral on their way to or from the Church.
    It is also another bad open to meet a woman especially a red haired one on coming from Church after a marriage. It is lucky to sit down an even number at a wedding breakfast. Match making was also very amusing and a lucky matchmaker was always elected to carry word of a match and if the match went on successfully he got commission.
    Padna N - living near Truagh had many amusing exploits before he was married. He was a fine, tall, good-looking man but hard to be pleased in a bride. His match was making with a girl from the borders of Killaloe. Before the final arrangements 'tis customary for the bride's people to give a supper followed with a dance for to give the young couple a chance to become acquainted. Padna and some friends arrived at the house and got a great reception but he didn't like the girl and not wishing to insult the decent people he decided
