Not many years ago there lived in Violet Hill, near Broadford a man named Martin O' Kennedy.

    (continued from previous page)
But the beautiful chapel we have noticed quite lately.
Is surly a credit to brave Father Quinn.
Here is a piece of poetry which he wrote about the vale of Belvoir.
As i stood near that clear crystal fountain
Oh what was it caused me to stand
Was that beautiful vale around me
Many miles spreading over the land.
I thought if a poet were beside me
The beauty would him so inspire
To sing a sweet song in the mountain
To the beautiful vale of Belvoir.
