- (continued from previous page)house. Another story is a man went into a house where a churn was making he went to take a "dreas" but the woman would not let him unless he took of his coat. There are thousands of "piseóigs" about butter making and cream. Some butter takes hours to make and never gathers in the churn and other butter takes only a few minutes. We twist our churn with our hands. There is a little glass in the cover of the churn and when that clears the churn is made. When the cream is in churn there is holy water and a pinch of salt put in also. We take the butter out of the churn with a scoop. The butter is given to the pigs or used making bread.
