  1. My grandfather told me yesterday that many years ago a man dreamt that there was a crock of gold buried in a field not far from our house.
At breakfast next morning he told all about his dream. He and his father then decided to go at midnight and dig for the gold. At midnight they set out with spades and picks and when they were about to dig they heard a voice which said
"A certain woman in the district is dead and why not be at the wake". They were frightened by these words and they left their spades and picks and ran home. They made no other attempt to get the gold.
