    and each man had to deliver his portion the bishop or minister or to whoever they were collected for. Some of these peoples descendants are still in the parish of Ogonnelloe. Another of these Proctors lived in this district but there are none of his descendants living now.
    Another type of person in this country who were very much hated were the landlords. They may not be so bad but they were badly instructed by the bailiffs under them. In many cases these fellows when a poor man would not be able to pay his rent would go under hand and tell the landlord that this man had sold cattle or pigs and had plenty of money. Then the landlord pressed for the rent and often evicted poor people.
