    He trusted not in himself alone but in his Divine Saviour. He once won a race in France, and afterwards sent in a thanksgiving to the messenger of the Sacred Heart for been successful in it.
    The Garda Síochána were anxious to have such a famous runner in their midst so he joined their forces and before long he became a Sergeant. However he did not remain long in the force as he much preferred the open life of the country. He is presently working in an Insurance Office in Ennis.
