    Once upon a time there was a man and he was very poor.

    Once upon a time there was a man and he was very poor. He had two children and his wife to support. One day there was a fair and his wife told him to bring the cow to the fair. As he was going to the fair he met a fairy. He asked him how much he wanted for the cow and the man told him the price. He said that he would give him a bottle for her but the man said that he would not sell her for a bottle. The fairy said to him that he would not sell her if he did not give her to him. The fairy told him to go home and to put a white cloth on the table and to put four plates and the bottle in the centre and to say words over it. When he had the words said there came out of the bottle a lot of little fairies with sticks and after a while they went in again and then there came out a lot of money.
    After a few months a man who was living near him and who was very rich, came and asked him for the
