- The Fiddler with the Stump
Long ago there was a great fiddler living in Moyhill near Cratloe, and he used to be invited to every dance not alone in the neighbourhood, but far and near.
One night there was a dance in a house in Ardkyle in the parish of Sixmilebridge. After the dance he was on his way he took a shortcut which lef him pas an old fort. When nearing it he heard music, and dancing and singing. he sat down, and repeated on his fiddle all that he heard. He was then called in to the fort by a voice, and(continues on next page)
