- (continued from previous page)The first thing the farmer does when he is going to sow the potatoes is to get an apron and fill it with scillauns. Then he walks backwards along the drills and he puts each scillane about a foot apart. Then when he has them all down on the drills he covers them over with earth.
- Potatoes are our chief food. The way sow them is, First you plough the land and harrow it to make the soil soft. You then make the drills with a plough.
