A Local Song
“Waft me back to dear old Ireland across the ocean blue”
I
Waft me back to dear old Ireland
across the ocean blue
Bear on your mind my thought of her

and from my home of prayer

the time when I was there.II
When I at home last Patricks day
with comrades I’d be seen
And in respects no doubt,
I’d drown my shamrock green
For the little children of the land
their emblems they do wear
On St Patricks day in Ireland
the time when I was there.III

The scenes along the Shannon side
from Fortland to Clonmaan
Old Carrick town of high renown

On St Patricks day in Ireland
the time when I was there.(continues on next page)
