- There is a story told about churning. One day a woman was churning milk and an old man came in and did not take the churn-dash to help her. When he went out the woman kept churning all the day and she could get no butter she said that the man brought the butter with him. When she went to the mans house she took a coal out of the fire and luck of the butter came back again.
