  1. There was an old school in Feevagh, Dysart, Co. Roscommon. It was started in 1835 by a man named James Lyons. He lodged with a man named Bernard Eardly, at Feevagh. The barn was quite near the site of the of the present school at Feevagh.
    There was no Irish taught in this said school. The parents of the pupils did not want it.
