- At a cross-road in Kilmore there is
a heap of crosses. Every time a funeral passes through there is always a second cross thrown on
the heap. - In former years in Ballymore there used to be very few herses used
for funerals. The people used to
carry the corpse on what was called a bearer.
It rested on the shoulders of four
men in turns for a distance of
fifteen or twenty miles.
