    This is the conclusion of what I sent in, in my last book. It concerns the work that goes on in a farmhouse kitchen.

    March also all the blankets are washed as it takes the drying winds so common in this month to penetrate them. Hickey's of New Ross make the finest blankets in Ireland. Then about the middle of the month the cleaning up is to be done in the preparation for Easter. The kitchen is whitewashed, and the parlour is papered and the bedroooms and the doors and windows are painted. Then all are fresh and clean for the summer. Every farmer's wife no matter how poor or untidy do their Spring cleaning. It is a very busy and active month for the woman of the house.
    The hens, ducks and geese are all laying now. Hens are "set" in this month (March) so that the chickens will be ready for the market in June, and the
