    There was a king in Ireland long ago and he had wan daughter, and she was beautiful. An enchanted giant came from the Norway hills and took her away with him and all the poor king could do he wasn't able to get her back. No ship could cross the water from Ireland to Norway for the giant was enchanted and he worked some enchantment on the water.
    There was a woman living that time and she had wan son called Jack and he went to the king and told him he would like to go in search of the princess. The king brought him in and gave him plenty of gin and drinking and plenty of money and then Jack set out. He travelled on until evening came on and
