"Oh" says Jack "Let's see what you can do" so he went in and he brought out a great bar so he said he would be able to hurl that across the castle so he put the bar upon his foot & he hurled it across the castle. He went round to the other side & got the bar & went to put it on Jack's foot but Jack wouldn't let him because it would crush his foot but instead he put his finger to his mouth & he gave a whistle & the giant asked him what did he mean "I have a brother in Ireland" he says "& I am going to send this bar to him for to make horse shoes out of it". "Oh" says the giant "I couldn't let you do that you know for I want this bar" so he put it away afoard Jack would do away with it.
