- The Girl who went out to frighten a man Long ago there was a rich farmer lived in Rathcormac. His name was Curtain. He kept three men and a servant girl always working in the place. This girl, that was working in the house, she was a terrible card and she was up to all kinds of tricks. She was always playing tricks on the men. There was wan [one] of the men and she had an auld grá for him, and he used be drinking and she didn't like it. He used to go down to a pub every night for a pint or two.
