- About a mile from this school, there is a lake called Loch an Aifrinn which got its name, because mass was read on the shore of this lake. Some people call it Loch an Ifrinn, which means “the lake of hell” it is said the lake has no bottom.
The old people say that about ninety years ago, mass was read on the shore of this lake.
One day a priest was saying mass, when he was surprised by two solders, who came up to him, and asked him what was he doing, he said he was saying mass.
The soldiers said to him did he know, that if he was caught saying mass, he would be killed. Without another word they killed(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
